Today we had another guest at the preschool. It was the "Paper Bag Princess." She came to teach us about the letter f, fairy tales and to share a great book. She also brought her friend, Caliente, to help tell the story. (He is a dragon.) This was a great story and we really appreciate the princess for coming to visit us. I am sure that your child can tell you about her and the adventure with Caliente, but in case you need more detail you can check the book out at your local library. It is true that reading helps your mind grow and you could see the lights going off in your children's eyes. They were begging to borrow this book and to hear the story again. This was, however, my kind of princess story. She had some hard times and ended up wearing a tattered paper bag for a dress. (as you can see above.) She was smart and worked hard to save her "Prince Charming" (actually named Ronald) and would you believe he had the nerve to reject her because she didn't have on a beautiful Princess gown and was dirty from saving him. Thank goodness she had enough sense to leave him for the dragon and find her very own "happily ever after." Thanks again to the Paper Bag Princess for taking some time to stop in and share this story.
Above you will see the Princess and Caliente. He wasn't nearly as scary as we thought he would be. And of course, she left us with a sparkly, magic stamp on our hand. (And you know how much we LOVE sparkly magic stamps!!!!)
