Slow Down

So... just in case you think about your child's age... and he/she starting kindergarten in August..... These are my babies!!!  Yes my babies!!!  But you can see how old they are.  It happens faster than you know.  I think of them always like this permanently preschool - but time happens and they grow up so fast.  So this post is more for me to say "SLOW DOWN."  Your children will be grown and gone before you actually know it has happened.  Enjoy every minute of your time with your family.

Our 100th Day

It happened!!! It really happened!!!  WE made it to our 100th day!!!  Here is our magical snack mix of delicious treats.  We each counted out our stuff and then dumped it all together.
So we added everything except the last secret ingredient... the 100 cheese puffs.  We had so much fun comparing all of the ingredients.  100 goldfish sure doesn't look like much... but when we put it all together it tasted so delicious.  We actually said it tasted like "100 days of fun."

Mrs. Kelli was the master chef as she mixed all of this up and she didn't even spill one thing.
Here are our silly faces on our 100th day!  We are AWESOME!!!

Palm Sunday and Holy Week

Hosanna!!! It will be Palm Sunday this weekend... the beginning of the saddest part of Jesus' life.  It is a heavy duty subject and we don't go very deep into the really, really scary part... but we do talk about what happens throughout the upcoming Holy Week.   Your child brought home a small white bag with an Easter story box.  Your family can use this to follow Jesus on His walk to the AWESOME news of Easter morning.  Here we are with our palm branches practicing for the loud Hosanna parade that brings Jesus into Jerusalem.  The children learned a simple song for this joyous day "Hosanna, Hosanna, Blessed is He who comes.... Hosanna, Hosanna, Blessed is He who comes.,,," Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Days!

Happy Days abound in our classroom!  We are such hard workers but also such good friends. We are on our countdown to the end of school year and it will be hard to let these children step out into the big world of kindergarten - but I know in my heart that they are absolutely ready... and it isn't even May.

End of the day picture again... These are spontaneous and the absolute best way to end our week.!

Farms Are Fun!

We finally finished our farm folder and I LOVE it... (of course I love everything we do)... But we made all of our animals and did our best writing on each of them.  We talked about the many ways animals help us and the important job a farmer has in our daily life.  I hope you have fun with these at home.  The children were tasked with taking a few minutes to read the book and teach you about how a farm works. And this is just in time for Spring.

"Cast Your Burdens"

We absolutely LOVE chapel!  Ms. Amanda and Mrs. Bonnie share God's love with us and sing some awesome songs.  One of our favorite songs is "Cast Your Burdens" and as we being Holy Week, it is the perfect song for all of us.  Ask your child to share it with you... my favorite line...."Cast your burdens onto Jesus... for He cares for you."  And isn't that the best news ever.  Thank you Ms. Amanda and Mrs. Bonnie for taking your time to lead chapel for us each week.

Wow!!! 100 Piece Puzzle!!!

Mission accomplished!!!  These two persevered and completed the 100 piece Star Wars puzzle.  Of course, Mrs. Kelli had to help just a tiny bit because the colors are pretty similar.  So Proud of this class.  I just happened to get a picture of these two, but everyone else has been working hard at puzzles too.

Puzzle People

Did I tell you that this class LOVES solving puzzles?  Not just any puzzle... puzzles with 48 pieces and beyond!
And I love how they all work together to get the job done!  These boys and girls are bucket fillers and share God's love in all that they do!

Rainy Days and A Wet Playground Is No Problem For Us

A rainy Monday could be a problem.  It could make you sad and depressed... but look how mine started....Could you really have a bad day with these beautiful faces?  You can really almost hear the giggling....

And then we used our gym time to do a little kids Zumba... and it is absolutely the best exercise for your heart because we laughed as much as we moved...

After that we did our BEST work as Easter Egg artists!!!  We took our time and painted these gorgeous eggs for display.  Our art work was inspired by The Easter Egg by Jan Brett.  We actually used some "recycled" paint created by soaking our markers from last year in water cups.  The colors are so pretty and bright.
AND.... we also worked on a top secret "bunny" project.  You can see that getting our feet painted is about the silliest thing we can do.
I guess you can see our bare feet... but we already had our shoes off... so we just left them for off while we played in our classroom.  It was a barefoot kind of day because the sun did come out and brighten our room.  So we made the best of our day, even though our playground wasn't dried out in time for us to go outside.
Many of us use our center time to do fabulous art projects... or build massive structures with our blocks, Lego's and whatever else we can add to the building project...
And with it being the first day of Spring, we continued to learn about what happens on farms.  We have been working hard on learning folder to bring home and have been doing our very best writing.
At the end of our day, some of us had to ham it up a little bit.  We had a friend out sick, so we sent a silly picture to cheer them up.  Here we are being our most adorable! Happy First Day of Spring!
