Family Vacation

My boys sure do love "family." This is a term that we use loosely because we have lots of "adopted" extended family. Every vacation, weekend, work day, fun day, "get together" is an event for Marsh and Emerson. Just hanging out on the patio with Popsi & Pete at Luke Junaluska is lots of fun. We cut grass in the really hot sun and did some chores, but it is all smiles. We love our family.

Storm Clouds

Storm clouds approach the Blue Ridge Mountains. This picture doesn't really capture the beauty but it makes me smile. Our creator God is so awesome - could you doubt His love for us when you see these awesome mountains? Thanks Be To God!!!

Ice Cream Anyone?

Back at Lake Junaluska North Carolina we are trying out the hand crank ice cream churn we found at the antique mall. The boys discovered that a hand crank isn't as much fun as it looks, but the ice cream tastes just as good. Thank goodness for modern conveniences. "Old Timey" is fun but not for every day. (My thoughts...if we had to make ice cream like this, we would either have huge muscular arms from churning or be very skinny because we would never make it.) Happy Summer!

Happy Independence Day America!!!!

Yeah for America -the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave! Thank you founding fathers for this wonderful place that we call the United States of America. We celebrated at Lake Junaluska in North Carolina - where there is the most amazing fireworks display. Just as the sun sets the fireworks begin over the lake. It is beautiful, but the sound is amazing. The fireworks echo all around and make me think of the cannons fired during the Revolutionary War. I think it is so hard today to imagine the sacrifices made so long ago for our freedom. I am thankful today.
