All Done!

Yes, the final pictures of our little class family.  Silly faces to celebrate the end of preschool and our paper diplomas to prove that we really did graduate!  Have a great summer and best wishes for a wonderful beginning to kindergarten!  We will miss you and love you very much!!!!

Time To Graduate

We made it!!!  We are so excited that we are going to kindergarten!  Congratulations to the class of 2012!!!!  Beautiful, excited, happy smiles filled the Sanctuary as we crossed in front to get our diplomas!  We are so proud of each child.

Getting Ready To Open The Program

We were so excited and could hardly sit still before our end of the year program.  This is always such a hard day for the children because they know in just a short time they will have successfully completed preschool and are starting summer vacation.  I think this is the perfect time to apply the phrase "ants in the pants."  Everyone looks so perfect and it was a great morning for our class to graduate.

"Coolin Out"

We had a lot of fun at our end of the year party.  It is so funny to hear the children talking about "the end of the year" and asking in the same breath "what are we learning about next year?"  It was a busy day for us as we practiced for graduation and had to use all of "patience" while waiting our turn to walk across the sanctuary to receive our "diploma."  (It was just a rolled piece of paper but everyone could not understand why they couldn't take it home?")  Here we are in the fun summer visors that we made during our party.  Many thanks to our parents who helped make our day so special.  You can even sun some little friends who came in to help.  I love the anticipation summer vacation brings and the slow pace that follows.  Please take time this summer to enjoy your children and some fun in the sun.

Little Flowers

These little flowers started as some very tiny seeds.  The children were so doubtful when we planted them, but watched with anticipation as they started to slowly grow.  Every day they would come into our room and look for new sprouts and run to their friend to share the good news.  They took the time to talk to their plant, make sure it was getting enough sun and checking carefully to make sure that Mrs. Laurie had given them just the right amount of water.  Well, you saw our end result yesterday.  They all have tiny sprouts and are waiting for a home in the ground to grow and share some beautiful flowers.  The children were so excited to be taking them home to share with their family.  Have a great summer watching these little plants grow.

Don't Worry...Be Happy!

We have a lunch time chalkboard "thing" that we do.  Recently, the children have become enamored with writing or drawing on the chalkboard.  We practice letters, numbers and free art, but at the end of each day the children take turns drawing something for their friends.  Since it is so close to the end of the year, two friends have started working together and this was our creation yesterday.  It makes me smile and I had to share it with everyone.  Now please remember that this is done without any prompting and these two children didn't plan their drawing, but what a wonderful representation of life.  Rainbows, friendship and love...it just reminded me of that popular song from many years ago..."don't worry....be happy."

On A Countdown . . .

If you even walked near our classroom yesterday, you could hear and feel the excitement.  I believe that each child asked at least 10 times, "is today our graduation?"  These are some pictures from the end of our day with some of us looking rather sweet and some of us doing some "bear hugs."  I am always inspired by the excitement "in the air" because it should be our everyday feeling about life.  "What does tomorrow bring?"  The children cannot wait for kindergarten and bigger and better things. It is anticipation!!!!   I think that we should take a lead from these little hearts and remember that God gives us each a brand new day every day to look for things to come.  It is overwhelming to think about what these little people will grow up to be and how they will shape our world.  Thank you so much for making the investment in their future by sending them to a Christian preschool to help them prepare for so many days of learning with God at the center of their lives.  I know that the children are not aware of this gift but I will say "thank you" for them.

Graduation

I apologize for not posting after our Spring Fling, but for those of you who attended our class picnic, you have an idea of what we have been working on in our classroom.  The children are so excited about their memory books and love looking back at their work for this year.  They also could not wait to give out the Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts that we made during these last few weeks.  I am having my usual difficulties preparing for graduation and letting this little class family go.  These children have become the best of friends and work together so well.  I hope that everyone enjoyed looking at all of the goodies that came home in your little bag and that you shared in your child's pride for all their hard work this year.  God blessed me with this little group of angels and I have learned as much from them as they learned at Pilgrim Preschool.  Thank you very much for entrusting them to my care this year. Graduation is just around the corner and here our little people displayed in the hall. ( Just a preview of what will happen next Thursday.)
