Behold! The Birthday Box!

Today was our first class birthday. It is always so fun to watch the children's eyes when they see the box full of presents. Oh, the huge responsibility to select just one of these enticing packages AND to be confident in the decision that this was the right one - sometimes the pressure is just too much. You probably had no idea when you were selecting your small gift that it would be such an exciting thing - but look at the box! Wouldn't you like to choose one yourself? Thank you parents for your fun wrapping paper & packaging. Our birthdays are special because of you.

Another Great Day!

Well, the question of the day says it all. (At least I hope it does.) We use our question of the day in several different ways - reading, fine motor skills, math (& occasionally making a teacher proud of her students.) It is a little crazy at the beginning of the year, but answering it gets quicker and easier. The children will learn that the question usually gives a hint about something coming up in our day - but today was just for fun. For our second day - it was nice and smooth. Of course we are learning about our walking feet and getting used to quiet lunch for the first 10 minutes - but it will all work out. (I forgot that the biggest thing to get used to this year is that we no longer go to the gym to ride cars. Most of us have grown over the summer and we leave that fun for the three year olds.)

We're Back!

Look at these bags! Everyone did such a great job personalizing their school bags. The children couldn't stop themselves from trying to "show off" their bags today. Each time we left our classroom for part of the "school tour" the children were trying to make their way back to our shelf to show off their bags. It was such a wonderful "spirit" filled day as we made new friends and started the last year of preschool. (You don't know how much of a big deal it is to be in the upstairs class this year.) I can't tell everyone how excited& blessed we are to be entrusted with the care and education of your children. God is so good and we are so fortunate to see His love in your children's faces. Stay tuned for first day pictures. It was a blast!

It Is Finally Here!

The classroom is ready and we have met all of our wonderful smiling children and their families. We can't wait for Monday morning. God is good and we will have so much fun learning and growing in His love. Being four is awesome and making the climb upstairs everyday shows everyone how much you have grown over the summer. When you come upstairs on Monday, don't forget to hang your bag on the hook and reach up tall to put your lunchbox on the shelf. Check under your name for a center tag.
Then stop by the question of the day and find that small clothespin inscribed with your name. Take a minute to really think about the answer - ARE YOU READY FOR SCHOOL?
Put on a great big smile and come on in for a busy, fun, exciting, playful, super first day of four year old preschool.

Here are your centers....Play- Dough is just outside of our classroom door.
Puzzles and Blocks/Legos are on rug just inside of the door

Home Living is in the far corner with the kitchen and vanity.
And Science is on the other side of Home Living.
Of course, my favorite center is books - and you will find it just under the trees.
Have a wonderful weekend - playing outside and enjoying our sunny days. Monday morning with be here before you know it.

Getting Ready

It is almost time for us to return to our classroom. I am so excited about meeting the children and their families this week. The classroom is a little bit different and I can't wait for the children to come in and explore.
