Sping Fling

Better late than never, but here they are....pictures from one of the best days ever!!!!! Spring Fling 2014!!!! (I left right after school on Thursday for a fabulous trip with my husband and got back late yesterday - so here is a quick recap of day on Thursday.)   It was such a great day!!!  There was face fainting...
  Slushes......Yum!!!!
Parachute games, along with some funny jokes and "robot" dancing....
 Bubbles....

 THEN.....
the BOUNCE HOUSE....but we had to wait just a tiny bit.  So below is a picture of our friends waiting so patiently.  (Many thanks to Pastor Jay for teaching us about this with his crazy "Fruits of the Spirit" song.)
But we finally got in there and bounced all around!!!!

then we had fun with sidewalk chalk...
and unfortunately, one "boo-boo."  Our little friend was very brave and did not let this ruin her day.  She got her band aids and got right back to "jumping."
Many thanks to the parents who made this day so successful.  Our boys and girls loved every single minute of it.  I hate that I didn't get pictures of the pizza lunch because we were all crazy hungry.  It was a day packed full of fun and I would bet that everyone took a very long nap after dismissal.   Yay Spring Fling!!!!

More Beautiful Butterflies

A few more of our butterflies to share.  These friends finished their projects today and I had to put up pictures of their work.  I love all of the colors.  Our butterflies are as special as each of us.  Thank you God for giving us all such wonderful talents to share and creating us so wonderfully different.

The Day A Chicken Came To School....

It is true... a chicken came to school today.   A friend from Mrs. Cindy's class brought a pet chicken to show his class and they invited us to come too.  We were so excited.  (I had to put the first two pictures up because we are just so adorable.)  You can see below that we really paid attention and learned a lot about chickens and roosters.  (Only there were no roosters around because they can be kind of bossy and cranky.)

This little chicken was so brave and friendly.  She let us pet her and feed her some grass.  Who knew that a chicken could be so much fun?  Many thanks to this friend and his mom for sharing her with us today.

The "Peterinarian"

We had a visit from a very special community helper today, the veterinarian.  I love that the children for the past two years have lovingly called her the "peterinarian".  (It just makes sense doesn't it?  Be honest.....they take care of pets....all kinds of pets, so this name makes way more sense than veterinarian.)  She always brings the most interesting things and talks about pet care from head to toe.  You can see the x-ray machine sitting beside her and the children love seeing what animals look like from the inside out.  We saw some broken legs, some crazy things that pets have eaten, and some babies in a mama's tummy.  We really appreciate her taking the time to come and share this information with us and who knows....one of us might just grow up to be a "peterinarian".

...."Because we're happy...."

Our classroom is such a happy place.  Even with all of the noise and activity, it is just happy!  I am so sad that graduation is just around the corner.  We are all working so hard and know each other so well, it seems like someone just sprayed us with "miracle grow".  We are soaking up information and helping each other do our best.  Being happy seems so simple, but we take it for granted.  So this post sounds just like that song that gets stuck in your head.."because we're happy...."  Try to have a happy day yourself'; if you can't  - just stop in and we can share our happy with you too.

A Lesson In Japanese Clothing

Thank you Bonnie Sensei for another really cool Japanese learning experience.  We got to try on some traditional clothing from Japan and we had a really good time.  I think most of our children would agree that we are really glad we just get to wear some shorts and a t-shirt to school, but trying these on was neat.  We learned the names of socks, shoes, jackets and robes.  Many thanks to Bonnie for taking the time to share this with us.

Goodbye Sugar Sparkles, Pink Jewel, Blackstone & Max

This is always a really cool day for everyone at the preschool....the day we release our butterflies!  It is so exciting that we watched these beautiful butterflies start in our classrooms as tiny black worms and today fly away with delicate wings.

It was sad to say goodbye to our little friends, but so much fun to watch them flutter away!  Happy Flying Sugar Sparkles, Pink Jewel, Max & Blackstone.
