A Busy Day

There are so many ways that we work and play in our classroom and it was the kind of day where we were all over the place.  As always it was busy and loud with lots of moving around, but look at the fun things we use to help our brains grow big and strong.  What an awesome class of boys and girls?  We work hard and play even harder!  This is how the four year old class "rolls."  (As an aside, one of the children asked during circle time, "Mrs Laura, is this a day where we can play more than we work?"  Of course I responded "Playing is learning so we play while we work."  Clever huh?)

Hat Day

It was our week for the letter H so we thought it would be fun to have a "crazy hat day."  It was really fun to see what everyone decided to wear and to our surprise no one had the same hat.  Here we are with our totally cool and cute hats.  Happy Hat Day!

Carving A Pumpkin

You can't possibly get ready for Halloween without carving a pumpkin.....so we did exactly that.  You can see from these pictures that we did lots of cleaning to get our pumpkin ready for his transformation into a Jack O'Lantern.  We thought it was gross and squishy, but we dove right in and cleaned it all up.  We even saved some pumpkin seeds to plant somewhere near the preschool to see if they would start to grow.  To see our finished product you'll have to stop by the preschool, our little guy is on on display just outside the front door.

Picture Day In The Pumpkin Patch

It was picture day for our class and you could not have asked for a more beautiful day!!!!  The sun was just right for these smiling faces.  We all did a great job "saying cheese," but we were actually more interested in the pumpkins.  BUT before we could pick one for our very own, we had to take a class picture or two....First you will see our "regular face' picture....
then we did a "scary monster face" picture....(I just couldn't resist....it is almost Halloween.)

Owl Art

We were inspired by a fun book we read about a cute little white owl to make this little door decoration.  Surprisingly the book is called The Little White Owl and it is written by Tracey Corderoy and Jane Chapman.  If you read this book, you will understand all of the brightly colored owl friends.  It has a wonderful message of friendship & acceptance plus, the owls are so pretty to look at.

Outstanding Tuesday!!!!

This first picture says it all!!!!!  It was an outstanding day.  (It might have been just a little loud in the classroom but it was a still a super day!)  Everyone made it to the stars.  We did a lot of brain work, but we also practiced sitting quietly after lunchtime.  It was just a great day and here are some pictures from the playground to make your day feel happy!!!!

A Taste Test - Pumpkin Ice Cream?

Our taste test this week was kind of strange....do you like pumpkin ice cream?  Yes I said pumpkin ice cream.  Although most of us didn't even believe it was a real thing, we took the challenge.  It looks just like the ice cream we have at home, so we used our spoons to give it a try.  Some of us gave it the thumbs up and some of us gave it the thumbs down - but the idea was to try something new.  What a way to end our week - thank you Publix grocery stores for this yummy way to taste pumpkin.  Up next  - pumpkin seeds.
