A Fun Rainy Day

Too many rainy days don't make us miss out on the fun.  We had an adventure outside in the "drizzle" to check out signs of our changing season.  There wasn't too much to see yet except a few yellow leaves, but the "sprinkling" rain was the best!!!!! I think the children were a little disappointed that there were no mud puddles, but this teacher isn't quite that brave.

F is Football

We just can't miss any opportunity to do an art project and could you resist the obvious fall sport that starts with "f'" ..... FOOTBALL.  Here are our cute little football players with their team of choice.  I think if we would have given our class team a name it would have been "The Bucket Fillers."  We have been doing so many wonderful things to fill each others buckets and guess what?  By filling someone's  bucket, we fill our buckets too.  Go Team Bucket Fillers!!!!

Music Time

Can I tell you how much we love music with Pastor Josh?   We LOVE music with Pastor Josh!!!!!! He is so awesome and makes singing so much fun.  Today he even brought a box that he used for a drum.....can you believe that?  We were amazed by this.  We sang our new favorite song...."everybody matters even you and me...everyone matters baby can't you see?....from the tiny little bugs to the fish in the sea.....everyone matters to God."  If you haven't heard it yet, ask your child to sing it to you.  It only took one time and we had the words completely committed to memory,  but I would bet that if your little one sings it, they'll be dancing too.  Thanks Pastor Josh for sharing God's love with us through song.

All About Apples

It was Johnny Appleseed day and we had fun this whole week getting ready to celebrate.  We had an apple taste test and made apple pies.  We also made some hats to remind us that Johnny wore his cooking pot on his head as a hat as he traveled around sharing apples with all the people that he would meet.

And you can't forget that crazy worm that loves to find tasty apples to eat too.  We practiced our positional words with our friend "Mr. Wiggles."

A Visit From The Librarian

It was a community helper day at our preschool AND it was one of the all time class favorites - the librarian.  (or "rightbrarian" as a friend called her.)  She came to visit from the Lexington Library and brought her favorite farm books.  She makes books come to life with all of her silly voices and made us laugh with all of the animals on the farm.

We listened intently as she read to us and we even danced around to some funny songs.  It was an awesome visit and we couldn't stop talking about those hilarious books she read.... BUT .....we really loved her special stamp that she gave us for being such good helpers.   Thank you so much to the library for sharing her with us today.

Fabulous Fall Trees

As the air got a little crisp, (a little more crisp than I was prepared for), we colored these beautiful fall inspired stained glass pictures.  I think the children did such a wonderful job.  They are on display just as you come up the stairs and the boys and girls are so proud.  I love the attention to detail and all of the colors they used.  Hard to believe that Fall is here....

Community Helpers

Community Helper Dress Up Day was a total success!  We all came to school ready to share our thoughts about being a community helper and our class graph predicts that we have a lot of future police officers in our classroom.  We even had a parade for our little friends downstairs.  It would be fun to flash forward to see where we all end up as grown ups, but that takes all of the fun out of growing up.  Either way, we were all community helpers in our classroom today.

Music!!!!!

Another amazing, fun, awesome thing at our preschool - MUSIC!  We had a blast today singing with Pastor Josh.  We sang fun songs with some super silly movements.  I am guessing that you'll be hearing a lot about music this year, but our tune today keeps ringing through my head "everyone's important to God."

Precious Police Officers

Tell you me that you wouldn't be smiling if one of these police officers had to pull you over - of course you would.  Look at these community helpers.  We learned about how police officers are community helpers and practiced being leaders in our classroom.  I don't know about you but I think these are the cutest police officers I have ever seen.

Pastor Jay & Rusty

We had our very first chapel today with Pastor Jay.  He is always so much fun and today he even brought a new friend, Rusty.  We totally love chapel each week and we love the fact that he brings his guitar.  He always sings the best songs.  Today, his friend, Rusty talked to us about recycling.  It is such a good thing to turn trash into a treasure.  This might be another thing you hear about throughout the year.  Who knows what kind of cool things Pastor Jay & Rusty will teach us this year.
