Our Last Day Of School For 2014

I am not sure that the children even realized that this was our very last day of school for the year 2014.  It was business as usual and there was lots of fun being had by everyone before it was time for our Christmas party.  We played in regular centers and, even though the energy level was through the roof, we were having just a "regular" kind of day.  As you can see below, some of us were a little tired.  The Christmas rush does take a toll ...

Then, surprise!!!! It was time for the super fun party!!!  We played a really cool game in Mrs. Cindy's room.  We passed this magic, jingly snowflake around the circle and had lots of fun doing some silly Christmas things...Like doing an elf dance, singing Christmas songs, etc....

Our other game was "snowball on a spoon."  Yes, you read that right....I said "snowball."  There were small, medium and large snowballs to carry down the line and we had a blast!!!! I think that everyone's favorite was the large snowball.  I mean we haven't seen any snow this year - but how fun it is to imagine!!!!

Many thanks to the parents who helped make our day so special!!!  We had a great time and wish everyone a very MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

Christmas Ornaments

Here is a treat bag with lots of hard work contained inside!!!  These are all of the Christmas ornaments that we made to help us learn about the real meaning of Christmas and Christmas traditions around the world.  These little treasures will last for years to come and they always bring a smile out as they are carefully hung on the tree.  My son, who is now 13, made these same ornaments when he was at the preschool and he loves getting them out every year.  They tell an important story, but they also remind of us of all the great times we shared at the preschool.

The Polar Express

All Aboard!!! Before we left for our Christmas holidays, we had a quick journey on the polar express!  We boarded the train and got a Christmas bell... then we had some warm and yummy hot chocolate.  It was sooo much fun!!!!!  We had no idea that this special train made a stop at our preschool.... what a great surprise!

Pajama Day

Pajama Day!!!  Yes we wore our pj's to school, but no one took a nap....it was our winter fun day!!!  Everyone wore their snuggly pajamas to school and we had a blast!!!

Wearing your pj's to school is more fun than you know - maybe grown ups should have a "wear your pajamas to work day" too.

Christmas Goodies

The Christmas goodies that went home with you last night were created by your child and a little bit of teacher help.  I LOVE the Nativity Banner we made.  I think this is my all time favorite project because not one of them looked even a tiny bit alike.  This is treasure for years to come and I would think your child's retelling of the Christmas story would be a treasure too.
Don't forget your letter to Santa....we worked hard on our letters and had fun taking our "sleeping elf" pictures.  (Although I think the candy cane stands were most inviting.....)  These little letters are helpful just in case something was left off of Santa's list.  Happy Almost Christmas!  (Only 13 more days or 2 candles in our class...)

The Christmas Program

We did it!!! We had our Christmas program and we were awesome.  We stood up on the risers so straight and tall and sang out loud and strong.  (Not to mention that we learned 4 songs!!!)  Our shepherds did look a little like Ninja Turtles, but that was okay.  (It might have helped some of us feel a little braver than usual.)  Hope this got you in the Christmas spirit.

The Christmas Art Show

Just like you have been decorating your home, we have been hard at work preparing our preschool for our Christmas art show....Above you can see our portraits of Santa Claus....
 Then we got "elfed".....

And had some fun with gingerbread friends....
Decorating for Christmas is always so much fun and we have done a great job working at school.  It is hard to believe that there are only 4 more days until our Christmas holidays!!!
