Superheroes Are Coming!!!!

Donuts for Dads is almost here....and we found these super heroes in our classroom today!  (Do you think you know who they are?)  We can't wait to see our guests on Monday morning for our "Superhero Breakfast!"  (Well and we can't wait to eat some yummy donuts!!!)

Happy Chinese New Year! (Gung Hay Fat Choy!)

It is the year of the Rooster.  (In case you didn't know.... it is Chinese New Year on Saturday!)  Our class had a blast today making these good luck dragons.  We had a dragon parade to bring happy feelings to our friends and LOVED showing off these colorful creations.  We learned that some friends in our class are dragons and some are rabbits.  Your animal is determined by the year of your birth and is supposed to describe your personality.  SOOOO!!! Gung Hay Fat Choy!

Terrific Thursday

Look at these beautiful faces....Just three silly girls were laughing and having a great time today.
We were super learners.... (even though it rained this morning and we couldn't go to the playground.)
This was a little reader we used to learn about arctic animals.  Yes the words are a little hard to read... (but that's what mom and dad are for) but our coloring was awesome!!!!  I hope you find these in your child's bag and help them practice reading at home.  We had so much fun learning about penguins and polar bears.  (stay tuned for pictures of our art projects for the week.)

An Over Due Update of Our Crazy Classroom

It has been soooo busy in our room.... It's hard to believe, but we have been doing so many fun things and learning so much... that I have just totally forgotten about getting my camera out.  So here we are for the past couple of days doing what we do best.... having fun and learning.  Even though it still doesn't feel like winter outside, we have been learning about penguins and polar bears... and even had a tasty polar bear ice cream cup for snack.
We've been on the playground... being energetic and loud....
And hanging out in our room doing new things.
We finally got to make our friendship cake.... AND WE EVEN GOT TO ICE OUR OWN PIECE AND ADD THE SPRINKLES.... It was so yummy!!!!
And tried out some new manipulatives...snapping fish.  They are sort of like Lego's, but the clip together.  We are all moving along and having a great time together.  SEE!!!  WE all made it to the stars!!!

A Lesson From Dr. King

In honor of our holiday, we spent some time talking about the good works  of
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  Of  course we can't really talk about all that he did, but we did talk about friendship.  Our boys and girls are so good at working together and loving each other.  Above you see a little activity we did and I was really proud of our class!  WE all followed our color key and did a great job.  Kindergarten here we come!!!  (But not just yet... we have a few more months together.)  Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day!!!  Love each other and do your best!!!

Happy To Be Back In 2017!

Happy New Year!!  We were so excited to be back in our classroom!  Everyone was eager to share their holiday fun, but even more eager to get back to work learning and playing.  We even welcomed a new friend to our class family... so what a way to start 2017.  You can see us doing our best work and showing off our "kindergarten ready" skills.
Back in blocks.. building crazy creations for our insects, dinosaurs and animals to live in...
Back to using our creativity in centers... and building tall towers with Lego's..
playing in home living... with our imaginary cooking skills....
pretending we are making gorgeous cookies with our squishy playdoh...
AND  Finally getting to enjoy our playground... on an unusual winter's day....
Whew... and that was only our first four days of this year.  It was a little loud, but full of happiness and excitement to be reunited with our friends.
