Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed!

We celebrated Johhny Appleseed's Birthday and had lots of fun with apples!!!  Johnny Appleseed was a super bucket filler because he helped others AND he shared apples!!!  We started our day with an apple taste test.... totally reliable because the children had no idea what color apple was on each plate... and this year we had a tie between the red and yellow apple.

Of course we also fit in lots of learning activities...you can see our children totally focused on the work in front of them.

These are the cutest "Appleseed's" ever!!!  Happy Birthday Johnny Appleseed.  You are the best bucket filler ever.

Playing, Working & Learning

So Mother Nature hasn't come through on the change of seasons, but we don't mind.  The playground is still so much fun!!!  Even if it is pretty warm, we still have the best time running and playing.  We got a super new cool playground toy that looks like an airplane and it is has been a learning tool to teach us about patience and sharing. (because believe it or not... all 12 of us cannot fit on here no matter how hard we try.)  We have discovered the joy of playing hide and seek and still have a blast just climbing and hanging out.

And in our classroom, we try our best and have so much fun at show & tell!!!  Our letter for the week is the letter "T" and today was just "terrific."

Kona Ice & Best Behavior

Yes it was picture day, but it was also Kona Ice Day!!!  So even harder than waiting on pictures and Christmas morning is waiting on our turn to get a super delicious snowball!!!  Many thanks to Bonnie Jeffers for sharing this treat with us and the awesome treat bags!  It was the best day ever.

And as crazy as it sounds.... we all went "above the stars."  Hard to believe that on a busy and unpredictable day that our boys and girls worked their way off our behavior chart.  Mrs. Kelli & I were so proud of these boys and girls.

Picture Day

What is harder than waiting on Christmas morning.... waiting for your pictures at the preschool.  No matter how much we talk about it or practice it... patience is something that you really never learn.  I was so proud of these boys and girls for doing their very best while waiting on their turn with the photographer.  Here you can see us doing our very best smile and also our super silly faces.

Prayer Pockets

One of the biggest part of going to school is learning to how to be friends and working together.  We are so lucky at Pilgrim Community Preschool to be a Lutheran preschool and we can learn about God's love.  You should have found a "prayer pocket" in your child's bag.  It has the names of each class member plus a few extra sticks.  This is just a fun way to remind us to keep our classmates and their families in our prayers every night.  We also use this to close our circle time each day...it is such a wonderful feeling to know that our friends remember us in their prayers and that God listens to us no matter what we talk to Him about.

A Happy Day

Pretty much every day in our classroom is a happy day... even if we have a few bumps in the road, it's okay... because we can talk about it and fix it.  Today, there were no bumps in the road, but there was feet painting that seems to make everybody laugh....

there were absolutely perfect playground conditions... (thank you God for such an awesome gift of a breeze and cooler temperatures.)

And there was lots of learning and playing in our classroom.  It is only our 9th day but we are having a great time coming together as a class family.  What a blessing to be working with these amazing children.
