A Real Snowy Day

Don't you just love how a snowfall makes everything so quiet and still?  It is my most favorite thing about winter.  (Even though we rarely get to have this experience around here.)  Things just stop for a little while and stand still....until the fun begins.  Children go crazy throwing snowballs and making snowmen.  This motley crew below had some fun sledding.  They were all geared up and ready to roll on the coldest day in the world.  We also made some of my nanny's favorite snow ice cream.  What a perfect day!  Thank you God for such a wonderful surprise gift to all of us.

Is It Really Almost 70 Degrees and A Forecast For Snow????

Yes it was almost 70 degrees today...it was so warm we took our coats off on the playground.  BUT, it might really snow tomorrow!  Did you hear that?  It might really snow tomorrow!  Not by the looks of this beautiful day but we have been sending up some special prayers.

Hard to imagine that we can go from this "picnic" kind of day to a winter wonderland overnight.....

But we have done our best to make it happen.  If it really does we may finally get to put "snowy" on our weather chart for the very first time ever!

Snow Ice Cream

Yes - everyone knows it!!!!! WE LOVE SNOW!!!!! And now it might really snow but we had no idea that all of this could be in God's fun plan for us when we asked for our snacks this week.  Today was yummy vanilla ice cream.  It was cold and white and so delicious and it made us think even more about the snow that might be around the corner.  Isn't God the most amazing ever? The best surprise ever would be a blanket of "temporary" snow.  We are just waiting to see....

In Honor of Dr. King

On Thursday we learned about the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Our big concept was friendship so we did these cute drawings.  The children were so funny because they thought that treating everyone fairly was a "no brainer." Why wouldn't everyone be treated the same? Well if it was only that obvious to the rest of the world.

Fun Stuff

Starting the new year is so much fun. Some of us have new lunch boxes, and now get notes in our lunch boxes.
We run a little faster on the playground....

And we learn to do the monkey bars!!!

2014 is going to be a great year!

Snow Friends

We LOVE snow!!!! Yes it is true.  We love snow.  So since we haven't seen any here yet, we had some fun making a snow friend that we can keep forever.  It was a recycling project with some old boards I rescued from the scrap pile.  I know they aren't very cuddly, but they sure are cute.  Coming soon - polar bears and penguins.

Happy New Year

My apologies but I had a few technical issues.  (So you can guess that technology is not my thing.)  We are so glad to be back at the preschool.

These boys and girls grew so much over our holiday break but by the looks of these pictures they didn't get too big to pose for a crazy picture!  I am so glad that we are finally back together and look forward to a wonderful 2014!
