Did You Hear About Princess?

This is Princess, our beautiful girl monkey that lives in our classroom.  (Yes she is a puppet, but don't tell the children.  They LOVE talking to her and use of the word "puppet" can really upset her.)  She is quite perceptive, because she always makes an appearance when our class needs a little bit of help.  It may be an uncomfortable topic or something behavioral, but she always knows the perfect thing to say.  (Who knew that Princess would be so good at getting the children's attention?)  She has a "comfy" spot in our classroom on the filing cabinet, where she basically hangs out observing our classroom and the children.  Yesterday, Miss Princess made her very first visit to our class. Some of us are having a little difficulty using names when talking to friends.  (Like "that girl in the yellow dress" has a blue crayon or "that guy wearing shorts" has a question.)  It is always so nice to refer to someone by name and "Miss P" wanted to help everyone understand this.   She practiced everyone's name and talked about friendship.  She also talked about our class rules and why it is so important to follow them.  Miss Princess was so happy that everyone in our classroom wanted to be her friend too and even helped sing our ABC's.  She had such a good time but was a little silly when she was scared of a friend's "monster" t-shirt.  The children reassured her that she was safe and can't wait to see her again.  If you would like to stop in to meet Princess, just let me know.  She can be a little shy, but the children always seem to warm her up.
