Learning about nursery rhymes is more fun than you think. Today we learned the rhyme about Jack jumping over the candlestick and you can see that this was "kinda" fun. We jumped over a pretend candle and tried it with two feet than one. They giggled and had a good time with an "old school" nursery rhyme. (PS - We did spend time talking about the dangers of fire and used our imagination with this LED candle. PSS -Did you know that this nursery rhyme comes from the idea that jumping candlesticks was a form or fortune telling and that it was good luck to clear a candle without actually extinguishing it? Hum - we can learn all kinds of things in preschool.)
