Did you know that it is almost time to celebrate the New Year? Well in China it is!!! It is almost Chinese New Year and the year 2013 is the year of the snake! We always spend time in our classroom learning about children in the world around us so on Thursday we learned about the celebration of Chinese New Year. We made some cool paper lanterns and some fun dragons to bring us good luck. We also looked at the Chinese Zodiac Calendar and laughed about being a rat or a pig. The children loved these animal signs so much that we had to send a copy of the information home for them to share. It was lots of fun for us and to close the day we all got some fortune cookies. So take a few minutes on Sunday to welcome the Chinese New Year and have a little dragon parade led by your child. Gung Hay Fat Choy!!!!
