Yes, We Do!! We had visit from a dentist and she was nice. It was really fun and the best part is that she is a friend's mom. She came to teach us about our teeth and all of the things a dentist does to help us. She didn't look scary and she made us laugh. (Unfortunately, this isn't what a dentist usually does with children.) Usually the thought of going to a dentist is bad and requires lots of coaxing - but this dentist helped us not to be afraid. She brought her friend, Gertrude, to teach us how to brush our teeth. She reminded us to brush all sides of our teeth and to even make sure that we brushed our tongue too.
The best part was learning how to floss our teeth. She had some of the children volunteer to be teeth and showed us how to get around the sides and in between. These teeth were so eager to be flossed and looked so happy. I think this might be what our real teeth look like when we take good care of them.
Thanks so much to our "dentist mom" for taking the time from her patients to come and visit. We loved our treat bag with our new dental supplies and all agreed that we can show our teeth how much we love them by eating healthy snacks & brushing regularly.
This little tooth, above, is a happy tooth. This is what we all want in our mouth. Below is our friend, her "dentist mom" & "dentist granddaddy." What a great visit! Happy Dental Health Month!
