"Shalom"

Did your child try to teach you a new word today? We went to our first day of chapel and Pastor Karen taught us about God's peace. It is a funny word .."shalom." It means God's peace or Jesus' peace and when you say it - it feels like giving a hug. This picture shows some of our friends from Tanzania. We will spend time this whole year mailing paintings and cards that we create to share God's love with them - just like "shalom." To help us get to know them better we have been singing one of their songs..."Asante sana Yesu..." and it is very catchy. It means "I am thanking Jesus with all my heart." If you hear it once you will find yourself singing it or humming it. Ask your child to teach you this fun song that we sing throughout the day. It is such a gift to see your children growing in God's love in so many ways. Thank you for your wonderful parenting - it reflects so clearly in your children each day.
