Is Anyone Looking?

Everyday when we go to the playground, the children all "pile up" and ask me to take their picture. As you can see, this is an impossible task. (This is why there hasn't been one posted - until today.) This picture is my best effort to date. Everyone is looking everywhere else - but isn't this what a playground is all about? Thank you God for this beautiful weather and fun days to play and run.

Mamas Really Love Their Babies

Please keep Mrs. Laurie, her son & daughter-in-law in your prayers. He is a proud member of our military and will be serving our country for the next six months. He is on the USS Florida. Much to the angst of his mom & wife, his location cannot be disclosed - so please pray for their peace of mind. There are never any words to thank those who so bravely serve in our military. God's peace be with you all.

The Lord Is My Shepherd

L is for Lord and lamb - so what a perfect fit for this week's letter Ll. The boys and girls made these cute little lambs from their hand print and did a pretty good job cutting them out. We added some fluffy cotton and a button eye. It was a fun way to talk about God being our shepherd and helping us when we are afraid.

Have We Only Been In School For 9 Days?

These boys and girls have got this school thing "down." They are playing in centers, working at tables and cleaning like professionals. It is so amazing to see them growing so well together.
You should be able to see from these beautiful faces that God's love abounds in our classroom. This week we are learning about families, both at home and at school. These photos show you how much we love being together at the preschool.

We are making new friends and sharing old friends. The playground is a wonderful time to see how this all comes together because we love to fellowship with the other classes.
It sounds so silly for me to repeatedly say how blessed we are, but your children are truly a gift.

L is for Lemonade

Today we made lemonade. Starting from cutting the lemons and actually squeezing the juice for this tart drink. We made a sequence to help us plan the steps and all worked together for an "after the playground" drink.

Colorful Crosses

The cross that was placed in your child's prayer pocket was decorated by a child in Tanzania. They came to us via a mission trip taken this summer by my sister-in-law. The picture on the back shows some of the children. It is very important to know that these children had never seen or used a marker before, so these crosses are quite a treasure. The children also wrote their name on the front of the cross. These are just little reminders that God made us all different.

Prayer Pockets

You should have found a prayer pocket in your child's papers from this week. It includes a picture of our friends from Tanzania and the names of children in our class. Next week's theme is "Family, Friends & Feelings." Our class prayer pocket is an avenue to encourage children to think about others during our prayer time. We do have prayer time at the close of "circle" time each day and the children are allowed to share prayer "thoughts." We all agree that when we pray we can talk to to God about anything - even if it is a dance costume, a fall off of a bike, a bad dream or loving our mommy. God listens to our hearts - through songs, play and quiet time and isn't this great?
