Happy Columbus Day!

 

 

 We celebrated Columbus Day today and I think we are some of the cutest explorers!  Although it is hard to really get children to understand what it meant for Columbus to make that amazing journey from Spain, we still had fun.  It was so funny to hear them call him Christopher Columbia... like he discovered Columbia, South Carolina.  Oh well, it was fun anyway.  Thank you Christopher Columbus and the Queen of Spain for having the vision to set off across an unimaginable ocean.  Okay, the Queen didn't actually go on the trip - she just gave the money and Mr. Columbus made the voyage.  (See why we need those creative, "out of the box" thinkers?)
