Practice Egg Hunt

 It's almost that time... our Easter Egg Hunt will be here before you know it.  And just to help us prepare, we had a practice paper egg hunt in the chapel.  For those of you who don't know, it is more like an Easter Egg Scramble and Search.  The children have 6 specific eggs they have to find and these smart boys and girls did it in record time.!  Mrs. Kelli & I were so proud of them.  They are ready for the big day next week.  No other practice is needed.  We are official Easter Egg Experts.

Leprechaun Madness

 It was a couple of days early, but we had a little bit of fun with a mischievous Leprechaun.  We started our day with a totally delicious Leprechaun inspired snack.  The "pot of gold" snack mix was our FAVORITE!!!!  Thanks to the moms who helped make this party so much fun.  THEN....we prepared for our search for THE Pot of Gold!!!  The Leprechaun left us some clues to help us in our search... and we followed them exactly as instructed.

 We were all dressed with our special Leprechaun hats... and set off on our journey.

 Everywhere we turned there were footprints everywhere.  It was a good thing we had those clues to help us stay on track.

 That silly Leprechaun... we couldn't find him anywhere... BUT he did leave us a special treat... a golden chocolate coin.

 It was super fun day!!!  We wish everyone a magical St. Patty's Day weekend!!!

A Visit From Luna.,... The Tooth Fairy

 Yes... You read that right!!! The Tooth Fairy came to visit our preschool.  Her name is Luna and she stopped to by to teach us all about taking care of our teeth!!!!  She even did a magic show!!!  It was so awesome!  Thank you so much Luna for waking up so early and stopping by our preschool.

Square One is On The Way

So here is our square one art project for 2018!  Since we talk about sharing God's light in our classroom, we made a lightning bug jar for this year's art.  The children painted the background & jar and then used their fingerprints to make the cheerful lightning bugs.  I think these are so cute and hope you like them.  We'll be seeing these little guys before you know it, because warm weather is just around the corner.  And let's all be inspired to be a light for the world!! God is so good... He blesses us beyond measure and sharing His love through acts of kindness can make our world a brighter place.

Happy Pi Day!

 So.... Pi is a "little" outside of the scope of a preschool classroom.... BUT it was an awesome excuse to make "Pizza Pi's" today.  We did talk about the meaning of pi and basically just looked at the symbol... but we went a little more in depth with our pizza activity.  The children had a blast!  Of course I failed to get a picture of our pizzas after they came out of the oven.  We sampled the extras and each child took their tasty treat home to share.  Happy Pi Day!

A Taste of Japan

 Arigato Bonnie San!  We had our "Taste of Japan" on Monday and had our very first experience making sushi.  It is always so interesting to talk to the children about this before the day actually arrives and then to watch them when we help make the sushi.  You would think you might hear a lot of "yucks" but it never happens.  The children get so excited and have a blast with the sticky rice and the seaweed.  AND most of them actually taste the sushi.  Now, not everyone likes it... but we have a few children who actually discover that it really does taste delicious.

 We start our day by preparing our table... a representation of the flag of Japan, and then we all take turns working in pairs to make our sushi.  Sticky rice is exactly as the name suggests... STICKY!!  We had to dip our hands a lot to keep this process going.

So when the sushi was prepared, we all enjoyed our meal together.  We used our very best manners and tried something new and different and had a great day.    The "Taste of Japan" is ICHIBAN!!!
