Our students are the best!!! No Really - Pilgrim Preschool has THE best students in the world. We are proud of our graduates and welcome them to stop back in and say "hi." ( Or in our classroom, they are welcome to come back and show off their reading skills.) So here is a friend from last year. He came by on early release day to share a book with the boys and girls. He read this entire book by himself and shared some tips for kindergarten. Thanks so much for his "grammy" for taking the time to bring him back to our preschool. He has grown so much and we are very proud of him.

S is for Sunny

After that terrible storm during Monday evening, we had planned on a day of indoor activities, but - God smiled on us and gave us a super, sunny day. There were puffy, white clouds - which we know now are cumulus clouds, and lots of sun inviting us to run & play. As you can see from the pictures, there was lots of running, "screaming" and even some silly faces. Isn't God so full of surprises? Out of that loud, stormy night came this glorious day - thank you God for your blessings on us.

Our Easter Rabbits

We did a fun Easter project this year using our feet & hands to make an Easter rabbit. This little project took several days, but it turned out really cute. We started by just painting a circle and then added our feet. The next day we used our fingers on both hands to make whiskers - of course by then it was starting to look like the finished product - a cute little rabbit. These are hanging just outside our door -so take a minute to look at these Easter bunnies.
There is a sweet little poem that accompanies our Easter friend - "this little bunny, you'll keep for years...because he/she has my foot long ears." Happy Easter Everyone.

Frogs

We welcomed the month of April with some "springy" frogs. They have hopped onto our door and cheerfully invite you into our classroom. Some of them are really fancy with eyelashes and clothes. "Ribbit, ribbit..." these girly frogs must be hopping to the mall.

Our Mosaic Palmetto Tree

This was one of those art projects that evolved out of our recycling projects. If you recall, we made crayons for the little ones downstairs. As we peeled all of those crayons, I couldn't find it in my heart to throw away those colorful wrappers. They looked so pretty in that bowl. Well - mosaic begins with the letter Mm - and Mm was our letter of the week. Mosaics can be made of anything - so why not colorful crayon wrappers? It was truly a fine motor project, but I think they turned out great. Each one was different and put a spin on the traditional South Carolina Palmetto tree. We had many suggestions of how to use this art project, but agreed that a magnet was probably the best choice. (Although a charm for a necklace was a close second.) I hope you enjoy this little masterpiece. It took a little more time than expected, but each is an original - created one little piece of a paper at a time.

M is for Mickey Mouse

We are getting close to the end of our alphabet and this week was the letter Mm. There were so many choices for a picture, but I think this one is just perfect. Mickey Mouse is timeless and so are these ears.

Magic Show

Yes we really did have a magic show at school! It was so much fun and "magical." On Thursday, a friend of a church staff member, volunteered to do a magic show for the four year old classes. The children loved it and were so well behaved. Even though it was a magic show, it was also really funny. Above, you see two friends helping with a card trick. And below, is a friend helping with an illusion. I think the facial expressions tell the whole story. The children had so much fun watching this gentleman and he encouraged them to use their library to learn skills for the future, even if it is something like magic tricks. I don't think I have ever heard so much laughter in my life. For a rainy day - this was great. Many thanks to our special guest.
