The Pigeon Has To Go To School

Here is our very first art project... it is displayed just as you reach the top of the stairs.  Last week we read a book by Mo Willems, The Pigeon Has To Go To School... so we made a super cute pigeon. Everyone cut their own circle and had fun telling me something the pigeon would love about coming to our preschool.  I love these happy birds and I especially love our preschool!!!

Checking In

I just wanted to share our morning check in board.  You can see that each of our students has a pocket and each morning it is their job to check in by placing an object in the pocket.  Since it is the very beginning of school, we use our paper dolls and our first name... but as the year progresses and we get smarter and smarter... our check in process gets more difficult.  We will use our last name, our phone number, our address, our initials or our birthday.  I know it sounds really hard... but our boys and girls will be able to do this with ease.   Preschool is so much fun and full of learning.

So even if it is really muggy and hot.... does that keep us from the playground.... "goodness no."  (to quote Pete the Cat)  We absolutely love our time to play and be with our friends.  This is the job of childhood... making friends, getting sweaty and dirty, and being super loud!!!!  I think you can see from our faces that we totally love being outside. 

Our First Visit From The Book Mobile

Our preschool totally rocks!!! Today we also had our very first visit of the year from the Book Mobile!!!!  WOW!!!!!  There are so many books to choose and we were so excited to take a look around.  It was so much fun to take our bag of books back to our room and share them with our friends.  Mrs. Laura & Mrs. Kelli LOVE the book mobile because reading totally makes our brains grow!!!!

What is Soccer Shots?  An awesome program that came to our preschool today to give us a free lesson in the sport of soccer.  It was awesome!  The instructors were amazing and we had so much fun with this quick introduction to some of the skills needed in beginner soccer.  We did a great job listening and loved every minute!  1, 2, 3, .... Soccer Shots!!!

Our first days of school were awesome!!!!  We are learning how to play in centers and how to clean up.  We are also making new friends and learning that being in a four year old class means that we are so much smarter than last year.  It is going to be a great year learning and playing together!  Thank you God for these beautiful children and our new class family.

What an awesome first day of preschool!!!!  Our boys and girls rocked it like the big kids that they are and Mrs. Kelli & I were so proud of them!!!  The front door was decorated with plastic plate flowers some of us made at summer camp and colorful balloons provided by Mr. Andy.  We came in our with our awesome school bags and new lunch boxes and had the best time making new friends.  Thank you God for such an amazing day and we look forward to working with these boys and girls all year.
