Planting Our Sensory Garden

We watched our seeds SLOWLY begin to sprout and took some time before spring break to plant them in our sensory garden.  Our butterbeans, carrots, tomatoes and herbs should be growing in this beautiful soil and we can't wait to get back to see what has happened while we were gone.  God has given us the perfect temperatures and generous sunlight to help them thrive.

Fly Away Butterflies...

Our caterpillars grew up in a hurry and left the safety of the net to fly away and be free!  Some of us were a little sad because we were afraid that Catty, Lanny, Butter & Pillar might not be ready, but we know God is good and will watch over these little guys.  It was so amazing to watch our butterflies spread their wings and fly away.

Soccer Shots

Along with our presentation about healthy eating, we had a visit from Soccer Shots.  They helped turn a rainy day into a fun day by giving us a mini lesson in soccer techniques.  It was so much fun and we were all bucket fillers by cheering our classmates on when they took their turn making a goal.  It can be a little scary trying something new and this was so much fun!!!  Thank you Soccer Shots!! Ya'll are awesome!

Healthy Foods

Believe or not, we had a FUN presentation from a classmate's mom about healthy eating.  And really!!! It was FUN!  She brought a box of goodies and taught us about foods that give our body energy and help us grow & go!  And then... it was a relay... where each child picked a treat from her box and ran it down to "good for you" bowl or a "not so good for you" bowl.  The children had a blast and made super smart choices with their foods.  Thank you Ms. Caroline for taking the time to teach us this important lesson!!!

Beautiful Children

It has been so busy in our classroom with lots of spring activities that I have been really horrible at taking pictures.  Here are a few recent photos of these beautiful children!!!!  They are so smart and learning so fast!!!  I cannot believe that we are just about one month from graduation.

Graduation Picture Day

Want to know what is harder than taking the SAT or filing your taxes?????  Cap and gown pictures at a preschool!  Those caps are about the itchiest most aggravating things for adults, let alone a five year old... BUT we persevered and we did it!!!!  We patiently waited for our turn and were all crazy proud of putting on this crazy outfit.... because after all... it means we are almost at graduation!

KINDERGARTEN here we come!!!

We Are Artisits

Our family art night was "the big reveal" for our artist inspired paintings.  Above you can see our version of a painting by Katsushika Hokusai.  It is called The Great Wave off Kanagawa.  The children did an amazing job and totally enjoyed thinking about waves when we completed this.  We especially liked painting with the shaving cream to add our sea foam.
And our second piece was inspired by Henri Matisse.  It is titled The Gold Fish.  This was a really fun piece to create because we had to create the background on the canvas first.  The gold fish bowl was added in stages and our favorite part was stamping our goldfish.  (I know our boys and girls are talented...but we can't take credit for these fancy fish.)
Mrs. Jenn and I hope everyone enjoys displaying our art at home.  It is always so much fun to watch our boys and girls create with paper and paint.  Who knows.... you may see one of students displayed in an art gallery one day!!!!
