It was a beautiful, cool Monday for us to play outside!!!! And yes we took full advantage of it! I think you can see from our faces how much fun we had!!!
Monkey bars are a major attraction!!! And all of us LOVE to show how strong we are when we cross them!!!
Of course we always have fun climbing and hanging out...
And then we also have lots of fun pretending we are racing this fire truck on an important call to help a friend.
It was a totally fun and perfect day!!!! We said "thank you God for such an awesome day!!!"

Picture Day
Picture day is always a HARD day... there is so much waiting that it makes all of us wiggly and loud. But here we are doing our best for our turn. The children did a great job showing "self control" which happens to be one of the fruits of the spirit we talked about during our first chapel. (So if you hear your child singing a cute song about all of the fruits of the spirit we started learning it with Mrs. Amanda yesterday.)
Then we got back to our classroom for our learning work. Yes we did slip in some playground time even though our schedule was crazy, but I forgot my camera. It was a beautiful sunny day and thank goodness our pictures were first thing because we were just a little sweaty after we came inside.
And the very best part of our week was earning another trip to the treasure box!!!! (These are the faces you get when you ask four year old children to scream "treasure box.") All 12 of us earned our 20 number punches to get to pick a special treat. It was a super week for our boys and girls. Thank you God for learning and growing together in our classroom.

Wonderful Wednesday!
Here we are on a wonderful Wednesday! The friends pictured above used their best play dough skills to make something they called "grandpa" cakes. They have so much fun creating all kinds of things and sharing them with our classmates. Then pictured below you see us on our walk to the playground. Even though it might be steamy and warm, we have lots of fun running and playing.
Of course when we return to our classroom, we continue to play and do learning activities.
… Puzzles are the biggest attraction in our classroom, with boys and girls working hard to solve them together. If your child tells that puzzles make your brain grow... they really do. It takes a lot of focus to figure these things out and this group of children LOVES them.

Then we also went down a slight rabbit hole as I talked about our healthy snack for the day and what it means for us to take care of our bodies. I do not deny that we occasionally get distracted by what is going on around us... and today it turned into a discussion of our skeletons inside our bodies. It is no secret that we talk a lot about what it means to be in a four year old preschool class... especially how we all start as babies and really cannot do anything for ourselves. This helps us understand how important it is for us to be responsible in our classroom and try new things. Some things are simple - like trying new healthy foods (today it was carrots) and some things might be a little more difficult - like using scissors or even taking the time to practice writing our name correctly. BUT today it was all about taking care of our bodies... and the important job our bones have inside of us to be the "skeleton" to keep our bodies upright and moving.
I even jumped ahead and pulled out my x-ray puzzle. The children had so much fun measuring to see who was taller than our puzzle and really examining the way our bones look inside our body.
So... you just never really know what we talk about in our classroom and the many different ways that we learn. Maybe I should have called this post "Wacky Wednesday?" Either way it was a fun day of learning for all of us!
The Art Show
This is the art show!!! Each week we will display some of our student's best work. It is a big deal to make it in the art show because that means you really tried your best. These displays change each week and sometimes spill over onto other walls. And we also display other activities as well. What a great feeling to show off your hard work for others to see!
Guess Who?
Since we have been talking about how God made us special, we made a super cute art project for our hall...it's a guessing game. Take a minute to stop by and see if you can guess who is who...

Marvelous Monday
Can I say 'Marvelous Monday" and you would believe me? It really was a marvelous day because we were all back at school. And this teacher was very excited!!!! As you can see these beautiful faces came right back to school and did not miss a beat. We jumped right back into our routine and had the most gorgeous sunshine for our trip to the playground today. We had so much fun running and climbing...
and doing the monkey bars.!!!!
We included a nature walk to make observations about our surroundings. How awesome is it that God is giving us a preview of fall with the changing leaves on the tree in front our school? AND we saw a beautiful butterfly in our sensory garden. AND you can see us looking around on the playground for friendly spiders and dragonflies. We have already learned that when we go outside, we are going to into creation's home... and that includes bees, ants and it is our job to respect them by leaving them alone.
Even though it was pretty warm outside, you can see in our faces that we had lots of fun exploring our surroundings.
And we just did an overall great job working together doing puzzles and making cards for friends in our classroom. SEE!!!! It really was a MARVELOUS Monday!!!
We are so thankful that Hurricane Florence didn't make the impact that was predicted and kept us all safe. Our boys and girls pray for the neighbors around us that continue to deal with rain and flooding.

We also had fun reading a book about a gingerbread man that go lost in his school and found a friend that had a gingerbread man sandwich in his lunch box!!!! (WOW!!!! We could have never predicted that!!!)
