H is for Hat

We ended our letter H week by having a silly hat day!  These cuties sure picked some cute ones!  It is a good thing we don't live in the "olden" days because these little ones were tired of wearing them as soon as they arrived.  We had a variety of stylish hats... including helmet and a cute cat headband.  Either way it was a happy day!

Fall Five Senses

 

 

 

 

 

We finally finished learning about our Five Senses!!!  We started this way back before the rains came (literally) and finished it up today.  (But this is something we will actually continue to talk about all year long.)  We adapted our little class book to include some of things that we use our five senses for during the season of fall.  It was lots of fun and the children were so proud that they can "read" this by themselves!  We also continued to use our five senses with our snack all week.  The boys and girls tasted and most, really enjoyed, hummus and pita chips. 

 

 

And we also had a candy corn taste test!!!!  I had no idea that this syrupy sweet treat came in so many flavors!  Thank you Mrs. Kelli and Laney's mom for bringing these in to share with us.  I think this was probably our most favorite taste test of all time!!!  Yes you are seeing that right... at the bottom it is a peanut butter flavored candy corn.  And yes... it does taste great... but I am an old fashioned kind of girl, because traditional tastes the best.

Fall Beauty

God's handiwork!  It seems that every year each class watches the trees in our front parking lot and that every year Fall's beauty is even more amazing than last year!  We are just at the beginning of this kind of "magical" season and can't wait to see how the leaves change.  Happy Fall!!!

The Pumpkin Contest

It is here... "The Pumpkin Contest."  Most of them are on the table and the contest can begin.  To participate, you will need to purchase tickets from the office and let your child vote by dropping the tickets in the canisters.  At the end of next week, the office will draw the winners and let you know if you won.  It is amazing that every year no one does the same thing and they are all so different.  Of course the front runners for class favorite is Batman and the Minion.  All proceeds from this raffle will go to Lexington County Flood Relief.

A Visist From The Librarian & The Book Mobile

 

 

 

 

We had a super duper reading day at the preschool.  We had another story time with the librarian and a visit from the Book Mobile.  As you can see she brought some wonderful books about Fall to share with us.  We were such awesome listeners and used our very best four year old manners.  Then we got to return our books from the last Book Mobile visit and pick out some more.  Thank you so much to the Lexington Library for helping our brains grow!  WE LOVE BOOKS!!!!!

 

Columbus Day

 

 

 

 

Finally back from the floods and rains....and is it irony that we returned on Columbus Day?  The day we honor a man who was way braver than I ever would be.  You know.. the man who sailed away.... not 100% sure he wasn't going to go right over the edge...and FALL off the Earth.... (See what I mean about the brave part?)   So here we are having lots of fun learning about this explorer who, we now know, did not really discover America, but who did get the ball rolling by sailing off around the world.  We had a great day getting back into our classroom and seeing all of our friends.  Thank you so much Christopher Columbus for being such a brave explorer.  We think you are pretty great!
