Today is Great Day For A Nap

A great lesson from Dixie & Moses - take the time to enjoy a nap. Today is overcast and chilly and there is only so much we can do indoors - sooo....take a nap.

Putting Skills Together

Thanks so much for wonderful parent conferences. It is a busy day and we appreciate your patience with the schedule. We also totally appreciate your commitment to your children. As we discussed, kindergarten is getting closer by the day. Our children know this and are giving us signs that they are ready. We are matching letters to pictures and putting together larger, more difficult puzzles. Great job to our class!!!!

Did God Create Aliens Too?

When we talk about space, the topic of "outerspace" life is unavoidable. I know the idea can be frightening to children, but we talk about anyway because the children inevitably bring it up. I am not an expert on anything but I believe that whatever God creates is definitely good. So today we made alien headbands. It was fun and makes something that can be scary and little less frightening. The children were so creative and many thanks to Mrs. Kim for volunteering to help with this process. These are some of our best alien faces.

Future Leaders

Today was job shadow day for the local middle school. It was so much fun to see all of the young women and men helping out at the preschool and learning about future careers. Our preschool staff is so ecclectic and talented; it really is wonderful place to observe and learn about working with children. Mrs. Laurie's son came to check out how our day goes. He is planning a career in pediatric medicine. Well as you can guess - he was a hit!!! The boys and girls just loved him and will miss him tomorrow. He helped with our learning activities, read a book and even answered questions about his school. A very special thanks to our guest today.

In the beginning....

As we learn about space, we start with the creation story. It all really begins with darkness and light. Our space collage is one art project that I cannot bring myself to change. (Each year I try to do things a little bit different.) This is one of my favorite art projects that we do. There are several mediums that we use to make this beautiful art project. We free paint, use markers, water bottles, flour, stickers and glue. Each piece is totally different and unique to each child. This is the creation story at its very best. The children even get to name their very own planet.

Playground Today, Rain Tomorrow

We are using our time very wisely. The weather has been so strange lately that we decided to enjoy the "spring like" weather that God gave us today. The playground was still just a little damp, but it felt great.

Astronauts

As we continue our journey across the galaxy, we finished our astronauts. It was a detailed cutting project and the children did great! They are so smart and can name all 8 planets. (In order from the sun AND if you ask really nice - they will even tell you the story about Pluto)
