Dinsaurs Roar

Our week about dinosaurs was loud and fun. We did lots of roaring, stomping and flying. God made all things, big and small and his creation is awesome. To enhance our learning about these prehistoric creatures, we did a variety of art projects . We made our dinosaur skeleton with dog bones, made dinosaur habitats from tracing cards and did a giant dino puzzle. It was a great week to learn about these magnificent creatures. These are some photos of our art with matching dinosaur faces.
Friends working on the dinosaur puzzle. We are still working on the finishing "part" of a puzzle. Some us give up when the puzzle gets "too tough."

The Weather Is Beautiful...

What a gorgeous day! Who would have expected this after the rain yesterday? We really enjoyed the playground and fellowship with our friends. Thank you God for your awesome creation.

Do You Know This Leprechaun?

It was St. Patrick's Day and it was so much fun. We had a little leprechaun visit our room while we had lots of green fun. We learned about St. Patrick of Ireland, but really loved it when the leprechaun was naughty and messed up our room. He turned over tables and chairs and spread green and gold confetti all around our room, but he also left a treat to make a day extra "lucky."
Here are some friends at the end of the day sharing "green cheer."

Rainy Days Can Be Fun Too

Last week we completed our unit on weather. Although we talk about it every day, we did the whole water cycle and air pressure unit. They absolutely loved it and were excited to have some take home worksheets. (the daily weather chart, the March lion/lamb chart, the favorite weather page.) This rainy day pal was our big art project for the week. It was appropriate because of the rainy weather approaching for the weekend. Each of us said that rainy days aren't bad and almost all of us said that jumping in mud puddles is the best thing to do when it rains.

Our Lenten Cross

This is week number 3 of our classroom Lenten journey. The children said today that it is long time for Jesus to walk to the cross. They understand why we are doing this ongoing art project and are happy to cover up their black handprints. One of us even said that it is like we are covering up our sadness.

Future Engineers

These are just two examples from our future engineers. They love to build and show off their work, even if it is completing a puzzle. This is the latest craze (building blocks and Lincoln logs.) The boys take this morning center as a challenge to create something even better than the day before. It is very exciting to see your child's pride when they finish a building project.

Don't Forget "Book-It"

Our poster has a few crayons on it, but we want to see more. Your children are crazy excited about earning a pizza for their reading accomplishments at home. Don't forget to send in your book-it coupons.
