Happy Sinterklaas Day!

Happy Sinterklaas Day!!!!  Yes, you are right....not Santa Claus, but Sinterklaas!  We have been learning about how children all over the world celebrate Christmas and how some Christmas traditions got started.  So today, we celebrated Sinterklaas Day.  Sinterklaas is a saint that is from Holland.  He travels around to leave treats for good girls and boys in their shoes.  So it was a little crazy upstairs when all of the four year old students took off their shoes and left them out in the hall.  I honestly don't know which was more fun....being at school without our shoes OR getting a treat from Sinterklaas...but either way it was an awesome day!  We made some crazy paper shoes like the ones from Holland and left out a little hay for the horse that Sinterklaas rides.  We weren't sure if he would make it this far, but we heard the jingle bells on our school radio!!!!
Surprise!!!! He did stop in our preschool!  We all got treats and couldn't wait to see what was inside!  Yeah for Christmas around the world!  We are such lucky boys and girls!
