Teddy Bear Picnic

It was our teddy bear picnic.  All of our favorite stuffed animals tagged along to school for our fun day and found some rest in my "teacher chair."  Theses stuffed friends were just so inviting that all of our friends just could not resist touching them and loving them.  So here they are before our day started.

Everyone had a turn during circle time to introduce their stuffed friend and show it off.  We even had a "fire breathing dragon," but don't worry, he was nice.  The children were so proud and did a great job speaking in front of the circle.  (Sometimes that can be just a little bit scary.)
Since it was cloudy outside, we unfortunately had to move our class picnic inside.  Most of us were afraid that it might rain and get their stuffed animals wet; so we improvised and had lunch at the tables.  I must be honest in saying that those stuffed animals were very well behaved and ate all of their lunch. Everyone was very careful to eat neatly and enjoyed our little teddy bear party.   It was silly and fun and we had a great day.

So don't forget that even though this Sunday is Grandparent's Day, it is also National Teddy Bear Day.  (But if you ask me, I think Grandparents are just like teddy bears because they are "snuggly" and always make you feel safe.")
