Forgive this very late post, but my hard drive died and my sweet husband worked through Christmas to restore everything to a new one. This is now past due, but as a proud mama I had to put this up. On Sunday 12/19/10 the children of St. James Lutheran Church performed a musical about the arrival of Baby Jesus. It was a cute play about the happenings in the stable from the animal's point of view. I was so proud of all the children, especially Marshall & Emerson - just because they are mine. The little ones were so funny in their animal costumes but were so big sitting, standing & singing on cue. As a parent, there are some moments in life that are awe inspiring. I am amazed that God blessed Jeff & I with two beautiful boys, but more awesome is the fact that our 9 1/2 year old was brave enough to sing a solo. Yes God is an awesome God!
This musical was written by Ruth Elaine Schram & Scott Schram. Here are some of the lyrics in Emerson's song... the words inspire me to think about God's gift to us at Christmas with His son, Jesus. "Open our eyes that we may see the blessing of Your nativity. Open our hearts, open our ears, till life's distractions disappear. Quietly now, we turn to You; quietly now, we welcome You; Light of the World, we worship You, Jesus, God's Son...." May these words encourage you to think about how quietly Jesus entered our world.
