Ice Cream Art
Our first master piece!!! We did our very first painting project and here it is... shape ice cream cones!!! (Complete with glitter sprinkles.) These are displayed as you come up the stairs. Our little boys and girls are official artists at work!! And these look totally delicious!
Tuesday... It's Terrific
Then we had a visit from the Book Mobile!!!
AND ended our day with our room looking like this!!!! The pictures below show what happens when you are playing and learning at the same time!!!! Somehow everything gets dumped out and then we all have as much fun cleaning it up!!!
And that is how we all end our day "on the stars!!!!" (Which translates to an extra punch on our number card to get us to the treasure box!!!)
A Peanut Butter Jar?
So these jars went home in our school bags. They are "Prayer Jars," however, it is my understanding that almost every child could not get over the fact that they were, in fact, peanut butter jars!!! The poem explains that the jar is a way to remind us to pray for our friends at school, but I probably should have skipped all of that and spent the week just letting the children absorb the fact that these are real peanut butter jars!!! And that we ate the peanut butter over several months and that I cleaned the jars up with dish detergent. THEN spent time explaining the "prayer" part of it. Who knew that a plastic peanut butter jar could be so amazing!!!! We will continue to use our class prayer jar and talk about how we use it at home, but JIF should be really happy that all 12 of the children in this class knew straight up that this was the logo for their peanut butter... so I think in the future I might have to call this the "Our Peanut Butter Prayer Sticks." Either way, we know God listens no matter how it gets to Him!
Monday, Fun Day!!!!
It was a beautiful, cool Monday for us to play outside!!!! And yes we took full advantage of it! I think you can see from our faces how much fun we had!!!
Monkey bars are a major attraction!!! And all of us LOVE to show how strong we are when we cross them!!!
Of course we always have fun climbing and hanging out...
And then we also have lots of fun pretending we are racing this fire truck on an important call to help a friend.
It was a totally fun and perfect day!!!! We said "thank you God for such an awesome day!!!"

Picture Day
Picture day is always a HARD day... there is so much waiting that it makes all of us wiggly and loud. But here we are doing our best for our turn. The children did a great job showing "self control" which happens to be one of the fruits of the spirit we talked about during our first chapel. (So if you hear your child singing a cute song about all of the fruits of the spirit we started learning it with Mrs. Amanda yesterday.)
Then we got back to our classroom for our learning work. Yes we did slip in some playground time even though our schedule was crazy, but I forgot my camera. It was a beautiful sunny day and thank goodness our pictures were first thing because we were just a little sweaty after we came inside.
And the very best part of our week was earning another trip to the treasure box!!!! (These are the faces you get when you ask four year old children to scream "treasure box.") All 12 of us earned our 20 number punches to get to pick a special treat. It was a super week for our boys and girls. Thank you God for learning and growing together in our classroom.
