We had even more fun in our classroom and are doing some awesome work as helpers. (Yes we can clean up... and yes we can help clean up messes we didn't make. This is what a "bucket filler does.)
We learn through our play with friends and have started using some of our more difficult manipulatives. This beginning letter sound matching game came off the shelf today and the children figured it that it isn't nearly as hard as they thought it was.
We also have been learning to use our muscles with some monkey bar madness! It is hard to believe that these boys and girls can go all the way across them this year.
We endured some hot temperatures on the playground...
And made that long walk up the hill to end our day with a little team spirit from our classmates.
It doesn't matter what team you like or what color you wear....we are all a part of God's family! (But I still cheer a little harder for the Gamecocks.)
We also put our first painting project up for display in the stairwell. You can see our tasty ice cream paintings and if you look close enough you can see the sparkle sprinkles we added on top. I think the boys and girls did an awesome job painting this cool, creamy treat!
Below, you see our job chart for week number 2.... So far things are going well. Even though we don't always love our jobs.... we are learning to make the best of it. They are certainly not all "line leader" but each one is really important to our classroom. Stay tuned to see how this progresses. I have already learned that "snack helper" is the cool new job---- almost as cool as "line leader."
And finally - the solar system! This hangs over our science center and I put it up last year because I love space!!! It is one of my favorite things to teach about. The children have loved this since they came in the first day and have already started learning "the planets" song. I don't remember a class ever being interested in this so early in the year, but if your child is singing about Mercury and Venus.... we are already singing about. These boys and girls are so eager to learn and I LOVE it!!!
