It really was "mud pie Monday." We talked about it last week... and today we actually did it. We ventured out into God's awesome creation and had more fun than we anticipated with this scary project called "making mud pies." I guess I really did grow up in the stone ages, because my mom didn't let the wonder of the outdoors pass us by. Our mission every day was to find something new and awesome to do with pretty much nothing else but our imagination. Yes we rode our bikes and did some outdoor roller skating, but the real fun came when we made something out of nothing... like awesome mud pie creations. I think the idea of playing with mud really scared some of these sweet faces.... BUT they loved it! Now I have to admit that today's way of making this crazy concoction was a little fancier than I did it as a child, but the outcome was the same.... (see below) beautiful mud pies... perfect for any worm or insect to use as a home. We also made a "house" out of pine cones and used some pretty cool natural elements to make it more fun. We found sticks to use an imaginary golf club and the pine cones as the course.... we used sticks as microphones to sing to... we imagined that sticks were hover boards or skate boards... and just had fun pretending it could be anything we wanted it to be. How awesome.... we invented things and created things and our brains grew because we weren't parked in front of some type of screen. Only 2 full days of preschool and the real journey of summer will begin! The opportunities are endless.... what will each day bring? I sure wish I was 5 again!!!!! Don't you?
